The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ on the night He was betrayed. He commanded the future Church to remember what He was about to do on the Cross and with the Resurrection. There was an appeal to look forward to His return and in and through the Lord’s Supper, the Church testifies boldly of their Blessed Hope when Jesus will return one day.
