We boast in all the wrong things and in all the wrong people. We brag about self and flatter others, all to easily and readily. But, what are the implications? What are the setbacks when having ‘pride and joy’ in the wrong object?

Ultimately, bragging in people or things leads to a separation within any group of people. The Apostle Paul wanted to show the Church in Corinth that their boasts were misplaced and misinformed. The reality of their situation is that Christ “is all and sustains all” by His grace. There is no room to boast except in God’s gracious activity… everything else is fickle and finite.
