“Discipleship Groups exist to help one another follow Jesus. We do this through building relationships that are centered on the Bible, prayer, and mission.”
We believe that God wants us to grow in our relationship, knowledge, and trust in Him. We also believe that God created us to be in relationship with other believers.
The purpose of Discipleship Groups is to build gospel-centered relationships with others for the purpose of friendship, encouragement, accountability, and discipleship. Our goal is to enable believers to apply the truths of the Bible to regular life through word-centered fellowship, social fellowship, and intentional fellowship in prayer. In this way, believers will be equipped to go out and share Christ with others – not merely making converts but discipling them into a deep and committed understanding of and love for Jesus and those around us.
2024 Fall Discipleship Groups
meet on select days during the week
Women’s Discipleship Group
Description: In Titus 2:3-5 it says: 3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4 so that they may [a]encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Titus 2:3-5 NASB
These verses are not a suggestion; they are vital to the Christian life! At HBC, women’s discipleship groups include women of all ages, seasons, and circumstances. Women meet together primarily to study the Bible and build relationships but also participate in events and workshops focused on what it means to be a godly woman. We strongly encourage Titus 2 relationships and discipleship (matching older and younger women to build a connection outside of women’s ministry events). If you are interested in women’s discipleship, please reach out to the Women’s ministry team director Sheila Bias (573) 228-7441
