The twenty third Psalm is well-known for its familiarity and powerful message to those who call Jesus their Good Shepherd but also, more importantly, to those He calls His own.

As we prepare for a Vacation Bible School focused on Jesus our Good Shepherd, we will explore Psalm 23 and its message for us today.

This week, we consider specifically the rest we find in and only with Jesus Christ, our Shepherd. This does not mean we are called to a life of sloth and laziness—physically or spiritually—but we are called to lay aside any and all effort in earning God’s love and, rather, rest in and because of God’s love He already has.
