Pastor Robert Cook
Thank you for taking time to look at the Hallsville Baptist Church website. My name is Pastor Robert Cook and I am excited to be leading God’s people at HBC since January of 2016. We have seen God moving in the lives of the congregation and have seen an increase in attendance of people of all ages. We are now focusing on 3 areas as we move forward. First, we are growing closer to God by reading His Word and focusing on Him. We are individually trying to allow God to work in all areas of our lives by knowing Him better and being obedient to His Word. Second, we are growing closer to each other by loving each other as God first loved us. 1 John 4:11 says, “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”. We are trying to be loving and forgiving to each other, giving one another room to fail, not condemning one another but coming along side each other with restoration as our goal. Thirdly, we are trying to grow closer to our community. God has placed us here to meet the needs of those in the area. One of those areas is to meet the physical needs of those who live around us. Our Savior Jesus Christ was always alert and ready to meet whatever physical needs a person might encounter as He went about His life. We also want to be that kind of example to our neighbors and those we might encounter. Most importantly, we want to share the Good News that Jesus Christ died for our sin and arose on the third day so our sin debt to God will be cancelled by repenting and trusting in Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says,” For I delivered to you first of all that which I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” Over 27 years ago I repented of my sin and believed that Jesus died on the cross for me and arose from the grave at this very church. My life has never been the same since. I have served in ministry for over 12 years now with my wife Karen and I are glad that God has brought us back to HBC to serve Him. We would love to see you visit us at Hallsville Baptist Church and be a part of what God is doing. God bless you and I hope to see you soon!
