What does the Bible say about tithing. Here are three scriptures that may help us in our giving back to God:
Malachi 3:10 “Bring all the tithes into the storeroom, that there may be food in My house, and try Me in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 But this I say; He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. and God is able to make all graceabound toward you, thar t you, always having all sufficency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
Proverbs 11:25 The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.
A famous American pastor wrote these seven reasons that tithing is important for every one of us.
We put God first
We prove God’s promise
We profit from God’s provision
We praise God’s name
We personalize God’s Word
We practice godliness
We particpatein God’s work
